Things have changed drastically post the release of Jannat. As an actor it was the best debut I could have ever asked for. I got to learn a lot from Bhattsahab. It instantly established me as an actor as my film was a super hit.
What are your upcoming projects?
There is Owais Hussain’s debut untitled film. ( Owais is MF Hussain’s son) aside from a film down south.
Is it goodbye to modeling for good, or is that something that you still dabble in?
No, not at all. I will continue to model and have been. I recently walked the ramp for Abhishek Dutta in Kolkata Fashion Week. I would even like to endorse products as well, which suit my sensibilities as consumer.
Miss World Tourism was a great learning experience. It was the biggest turning point of my life. When I won, I was very young. But now when I think in retrospect I realize that it was a major turning point in my life. I was the first one to win Miss World Tourism contest. I had made my country proud in my own very way. Even back home my folks were extremely happy and supportive. So it became very easy for me join films.
You have done some regional films, is that something that was done at the start of the career, or something you will pursue, simultaneously, to building your career in Bollywood?
My main focus is Hindi films. But if anything interesting comes along from down south, why not? I really enjoy acting. Acting is a passion for me so I wouldn’t want to restrict myself to any particular language. Iif the script appeals to me, I’m game for it.
