Saregama bags 2 Mega Serials and a Biweekly Non Fiction Show in the Regional TV Space

Mumbai, September 14, 2010: India’s renowned studio Saregama India Ltd is on a mission of strengthening its Television Content Division. Saregama India Ltd, also known for several popular non fiction shows, will soon start a brand new game show titled “Mummy and Me”, a biweekly, from September 25th in Malayalam on Surya TV. It has successfully completed 100 episodes of its preveious show “Rani Maharani.” Another mega serial is slated to start on Mahua Bangla from 25th Oct which is based on the subject of Socio Mythology, titled “Raaj Rajeshwari.” Saregama India Ltd is already producing “Kon Kanoner Phool” for Zee Bangla.

Saregama India Ltd went live with ‘Pondatti Thevai’ on 16th Aug on the Sun Network which stars film actors Mayilsamy, City Babu, Ramji and a host of other popular comedy artistes. This comedy megaserial has further strengthened Saregama’s position down South in TV production. Earlier Saregama India Ltd had produced non fiction shows like Athipookal, My Dear Bhootam, Velan, Soolam, Raja Rajeshwari, etc.

B R Vijaylakshmi, General Manager – Audio Visual Media said, “Saregama is known for rich production qualities, a vast variety of content which are sure shot successes, and encompasses several shows with superior quality visual FX. Our latest serials and non fiction shows are going to be no different”.

Apurv Nagpal, MD Saregama, adds “Television remains a key thrust area for us as we continue to focus on creating great content. Our regional offerings have continued to grow year on year, and we look to grow aggressively in this space”.

Saregama has also developed a State of the Art shooting facility at DumDum wherein there are facilities like an AC floor, a readymade rich house, middle class house, temple, hospital, jail, a natural lake, gardens, roads, village, etc, all in all a 13 acre property which is already the shooting base for shows like Dadagiri (with Sourav Ganguly), Dance Bangla Dance, Saregama Lil Champs, etc.
