Posted by barkha on August 9, 2012 | No Comments

Falaq represents the young lot of new television talent, that is carving out a niche for themselves.  Coming into the industry, armed with steely determination and a healthy respect for the medium, we get to interact with this talented actress:

A little about your journey to becoming an actress?
So its an unconventional  story of a small town girl moving to a metro, to the city of dreams. Initially it was very hard  and challenging for me, as I did not know anyone in Mumbai.  But yes there are two things that have always been with me, and  still are,  my Allah and my Mother…who  always said Beta Qamyaabi Ke  Piche  Mat Bhaago Mehnat Karo Taaki  Qamyaabi Khud Chalke  Tumhare Paas Aaye. I did just that.

What has been your most memorable performance, as an actor?
Well it was my show called GUNAHO KA DEVTA. I was the  main lead’s sister. I still remember that scene in which I attempted suicide,  by taking a knife and putting  it on my neck,  and  my whole family was there attempting to stop me, suddenly  my Bhabhi came and stopped me and threw that knife away during the scene.  When my Bhabhi came to me and tried to snatch that knife, her elbow hit my nose really bad, and all this while the camera was rolling so I could not react till the scene ended. Oh! God it was very hard for me… It was only after the Director said cut, that my co artist said, “Areyy Iski Naak Pe Lag Gayi,  my nose and mouth had swelled up very badly. It was the most unforgettable day of my life.

Your favorite show?
BADE ACHE LAGTE HAI because of Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tawar…they are superb…

Talk a little about your upcoming shows?
My upcoming show is for STAR PLUS,  airing hopefully, the end of August. I am playing a negative role in that, it is something different for me. I do hope my audience and fans like my new avatar.

When you are not facing the camera, what else defines Falaq?
Dancing , which I love, you can say its my life and my style.   After that I love to spend my time most with my mother, wo shayari karti hain aur main sunti hu. For my family and my friends I’ m a very loving and cheer full person and  my name also defines me..FALAQ NAAZ.
