RAJESH CHAWLA – ON WRITING AN UNDERWATER CENTRIC FILM IN INDIA

How did WARNING come your way?
Gurmmeet Singh (the director) is a dear friend of mine. I had written 3 feature scripts for him. We respect each other’s work. One day Guru called me up and asked me if I would be interested in writing a thriller for him. I immediately said yes because it was one genre that I had not written earlier. I wrote a sample scene and it went through.
What were the challenges in writing WARNING?
On working with the Director and other creative folks in WARNING?
As I mentioned earlier that I already have written quite a few scripts with/for Guru so that comfort level was already there. Moreover it is always fun arguing with Guru (over the scenes).
Has the film shaped up per your expectations?
Honestly speaking, I didn’t expect the film to shape the way it has. It looks simply AWESOME… very international. I was stumped when I saw the rushes. Hats off to Guru and team. Brilliant.
On your upcoming projects.
Yeah there are quite a few of them. There is Goldengate creations’ SURKHAAB… Satish Kaushik’s GANG OF GHOSTS… then there is (again Gurmmeet Singh’s) MUBAARKAAN… Yes… There are some amazing upcoming films that I am a part of.
