The glistening Cote d’Azur plays host to the second edition of St Tropez International Film Festival with an exciting line up of Features, Shorts, Docs and a Script corner bursting with fresh talent. Here’s a few talking points from day on the Cote d’Azur….
Masterpiece: Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns opens The 2nd edition of St Tropez International Film Festival
This highly anticipated feature doc directed by Alexander Gray and Jeff Maynard opened the festival. The doc encapsulates, and celebrates the stunning achievement of Batman: the Dark Knight Returns, galvanizing the reason why this story ushered in the modern take of the dark and brooding protector of Gotham.
The DeniedWritten by Wil J Jackson The Denied didn’t leave a dry eye in the screening room. This short is a story of two male police officers, who are also a loving couple. One is a Homicide Detective and the younger is a Patrolman. The Patrolman is killed in the line of duty, leaving Andrew(Homicide Detective) to deal with Alex’s(Patrolman) hateful family, hospital rules and bigoted Brothers in Blue. It shows the uselessness of Hate and is a film primarily about EQUALITY.
